INTO THE FIRE with Amber Sawyer and Daniel Sonic Rojas
Join us for a unique 4-class workshop series ONLINE that will deep dive into the Element of Fire, exploring the many facets, polarities and depth of this Element through yoga asanas and embodied movement practices, promising to bring the heat (and to balance it) as we enter the winter months ahead.
Destroying while it is creating, purifying while transforming, FIRE exists in the present moment, and carries the heart of devotion as it asks the sacrifice of form in order to transform. This luminous, creative force inspires joy, creativity, celebration and magic. In these practices, we will stretch, strengthen, align and twist the Fire channel meridians through a purposefully curated sequence of asanas and embodied movement practices as a means to bring balance to the FIRE elemental energies within our body/mind complex.
These will be unique sessions that have the potential to deepen your personal relationship with the Elements and how you can embodied their qualities through movement. No experience is needed. These sessions will be held online through Zoom.
The Yin and Yang of Fire: an Elemental Yoga Journey with Amber - ONLINE

Correlating to the Heart (Yin) and Small Intestine (Yang) meridians, a balanced Fire Element invokes qualities of power, acceptance, devotion, transformation, creativity, charisma and celebration. In this practice, we will use asanas to move energy through the small intestine and heart meridians. The Fire Yang Session (5 Dec) presents a dynamic practice that includes core strength and shoulder mobility, flexibility and strengthening. The Fire Yin session (6 Dec) offers a beautiful, passive practice to channel Fire energy through devotion and heart-oriented asanas. Together, these two sessions will enable the practitioner to explore the polarity of the Fire Element.
What is Elemental Yoga?
This form of yoga is a unique system that integrates the wisdom of Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Hatha Yoga into a holistic lifestyle practice both on and off the mat. Elemental Yoga uses gentle, physical postures, mudras, visualisations and affirmations to bring harmony to the 5-elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Space) within the body/mind constitution by strengthening, stretching and supporting the correlating elemental meridians. When we are constitutionally imbalanced, dis-ease can manifest mentally, emotionally and physically, until realignment of our elemental energies is addressed. This system of yoga empowers the individual to design a more specific yoga practice to therapeutically shift imbalances and to develop a closer relationship with nature, ultimately leading to a greater awareness of our own inner nature – perfect Yoga.
What does Yin and Yang mean related to these sessions?
This refers to the type of practice we will do together, where Yin is indicating a more passive practice focusing on flexibility, held poses, slower and more restorative. This is not classical Yin as many correlate the term with what is found in yoga studios, but is more of a description to describe the energy and pace. Yang refers to a more active practice that focuses on endurance, strength and dynamic poses.

About Amber
As an Embodiment Facilitator, Amber shares the joy of living through holistic practices of yoga, active meditations, elemental wellness and pre/postnatal support. With more than 20 years of study and practice in Yoga, Ayurveda and Meditation, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in the field of stem-cell tissue repair, Amber brings a unique perspective on healing and self-discovery through the influence of scientific and ancient wisdoms. Since 2015, Amber’s work primarily focuses on empowering women to have a conscious pregnancy, birth experience and preparedness for motherhood. Currently she serves as a birth assistant, teaches pre and postnatal yoga, as well as offers her own 85hr YA Embodied Woman Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga Teacher Training biannually and a Postpartum Yoga Foundation Series for new mothers, online and in-person. The Micro and the Macro of Fire: An Embodied Dance Movement Journey with Daniel- ONLINE

During this weekend, we will move away from the confines of asanas to a non-linear and holistic practice that dives into both the micro and the macro depths of Fire, using embodied movement and breath practices. In this first session (12 Dec), we will explore how easy it can be to gently and subtly awaken the energy of Fire. Using micro movements that do not stress the body, we will use the Fire element to clean stagnant energy, to enliven the body and to connect to the illuminance of our body and mind. In the second session (13 Dec), we will continue to regenerate the Fire energy through a dynamic, whole body practice, playing with animalistic, locomotive and embodied movement practices that are creative, spiralised and non-linear.

What is Embodied Dance Movement?
Embodied Dance Movement (EDM) is a unique, multi-layered movement methodology created by Daniel *Sonic* Rojas from an accumulation of more than 25 years experience as a professional dancer and movement expert, created through intense self practice and a deepening journey of experiencing movement in a holistic way. Everything is a dance, from the way we breathe to the way we move within our relationships and environment. His rich experience includes several World, European and Scandinavian Championships in breakdance, touring for more than 20 years with reputable, contemporary dance companies in Europe, performing in world acclaimed theatre productions, dancing for Queens, Kings and Presidents, and inspiring millions to dance through his performances, competitions, workshops and life story.
