Weekly Active Meditations


In our fast paced lives that are full of technology and to-do’s, it can be incredibly challenging to find the time for sitting quietly, uninterrupted, let alone to find silence within our own mind. While we may be connected in so many ways outside of ourselves, the connection to our innermost being is often shuffled to the back of the list. Now, we invite you for an opportunity to simply show up to yourself, to sit with your own nature and to find a moment of restoration through weekly Active Meditation at Samata Soul.

Active Meditations are structured meditation methods that consciously bring the practitioner from the periphery to the centre of the storm, to that place of witnessing, to that place where one can reside in awareness while all continues to exist around them. By using movement or sound, combined with our full attention, we are able to step by step bring our mindfulness to more subtle sensations, moving from the outside in, eventually becoming aware of body, breath, physical sensations, emotions, thoughts & the gaps of silence in between them. It is in this place of watchfulness that we become FREE to fully experience our present moment, to connect deeply with ourselves and to find the courage and inspiration to bring this awareness into our daily life. These methods are free of dogma and are accessible to everyone from beginners to seasoned meditation practitioners.

Amber Sawyer, PhD
As an Embodiment Facilitator, Amber shares the joy of living through holistic practices of yoga, active meditations, and elemental wellness, as well as combines these offerings with her service as a birth doula and holistic guide for pregnancy/postpartum women. With more than 20 years of study and practice in Yoga, Ayurveda and Meditation, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in the field of stem-cell tissue repair, Amber brings a unique perspective on healing and self-discovery through the influence of scientific and ancient wisdoms. From 2009 to 2018, Amber founded a community in the heart of Singapore known as Satsanga where she offered weekly OSHO Active meditations ®, yoga classes and community events. Amber has also studied directly under the tutelage of many Masters, learning to share Active Meditations (using sound and movement), as well as has been certified in many types of Yoga and Yoga Therapy, as well as Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselling. Amber holds certification as a birth and postpartum doula, and has been serving as a midwife assistant over the last two years. After the birth of her little one in 2015, Amber shifted into her current offerings, which include mothering her vibrant little one, continued work with group immersions and retreats, biannually leading a 200hr 5-Elements Teacher Training and 85hr Embodied Woman Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training, and sharing meditation and mindful embodiment practices internationally. Amber currently resides in Singapore while also traveling internationally with her life partner and little yogini, to share conscious movement, yoga, meditation, holistic health, love, laughter and light world wide.
