Core Awakening Series for ALL Women (ONLINE)


Core Awakening is now ONLINE for ALL Women! This unique program offers a holistic approach towards restoring, reconnecting, and repatterining core engagement within the female body.

This foundational series of 4 classes is purposefully curated to introduce simple methods to establish postural alignment, breath connection, pelvic floor balancing and activation of the deep core system as a means to provide a solid foundation from which a safe and confident yoga practice (or daily practice of any kind) can be established.

Specifically, we will use gentle embodiment exercises that are derived from pelvic health physiotherapy, yoga & pilates, to address the Core Four, to bring balance to the Pelvic Floor Muscles (hypertonicity and hypotonicity), to address Diastasis Recti and work towards restoring functionality of the Linea Alba through Transversus Abdominis activation.

These sessions are aimed at rehabilitating and empowering women to live in their vibrancy and totality and are open to women of all life stages. No experience is needed. All content has been reviewed and approved by pelvic health physiotherapists.

  • We will learn the importance of our posture and how this, combined with proper breathing, is the number one component towards healing and restoring our pelvic health & nervous system. We will explore ways to carry our posture optimally during our daily movements, as well as learn simple and effective methods to re-pattern our posture and breath

  • We will identify the pelvic floor muscles, learn about their important functions and how one might experience pelvic floor dysfunction, particularly postpartum. We will learn simple methods to assess our pelvic floor, as well as somatically experience and develop a relationship with these muscles.

  • We will learn all about the Core Four, a core team that is essential for core restoration and functionality. We will talk about Diastasis Recti, as well as learn how to self-assess potential rectus separation and core functionality. Further, we will introduce simple, easy and effective methods to restore core function through deep core activation and functional movement.

  • In this session we will integrate what we have learned into whole body, coordinated movement. After this session, we hope you will feel well equipped and confident to move safely in your body.

WHO CAN JOIN THESE CLASSES?
This series is for ANY woman, whether pubescent, pregnant, newly postpartum (more than 6 weeks), postpartum from decades ago, peri or postmenopausal, essentially - any woman looking to connect more deeply to her pelvic health and core to support hormonal health and a foundation from which to move confidently for any practice. In the past, we offered the series for postpartum women only but have since broadened the enrolment and language as we found that the essence of core awakening is essential for women of all life stages.

Not to worry, sessions will be recorded and you will have access to the replay for (7 days access).

HOW IS THIS SERIES DIFFERENT FROM GENERAL YOGA CLASSES?

Core Awakening helps to build the foundation for our ongoing practice. In this series we learn the fundamentals of how to engage & release the pelvic floor and deep core, which we then bring with us into general yoga or other exercise classes.
